Transfers ~ Crazy Transfers

I'm learning as I go throughout my mission that I really NEVER know what to expect to happen in life. Especially when it comes to transfers! Results are.... Sister Elizondo is being transferred to Woodburn for her last six weeks! Then Sister Phelon and I are staying and getting a new missionary! We're training! Crazy right? But I'm excited (:
It's been a long, fun, hot week! Lots of sun and lots of waiting (mostly in anticipation for transfer calls). We had a "Meet the Mormons" movie night for people in the branch to come and invite their friends! I love that movie and the excitement I feel of sharing the gospel and being part of this incredible work as I watch it! (:
Cutest thing about this small town: we see these cute old man in the morning riding around on their motorized wheel chairs and they have these flags on the back of them. This morning as we were leaving to go shopping I said Hi to one as he was riding by and he honked his cute horn "beep beep" and waved and smiled back! It made my day!
I wish I could describe all the incredible experiences that happen each week! All the things I learn from the scriptures and the knowledge I gain! Even as a missionary I have questions about the gospel and the things I've grown up knowing but there have been so MANY times when these questions are answered through the scriptures! It grows my testimony every single time and I'm in awe of the power and mercy God shows us! I'm so grateful for the scriptures! They are the word of God and a way for God to speak to us! Please read the scriptures and seek to hear what God is trying to tell you! It's a power I can't completely explain but have experienced (:
"Behold, I say unto you that whoso believeth in Christ, doubting nothing, whatsoever he shall ask the Father in the name of Christ it shall be granted him; and this promise is unto all, even unto the ends of the earth." (Mormon 9:21) I know this promise is true!
I LOVE you all! Hope you have an incredible and cool week! (:

Justin is BAPTIZED!!

Getting ready for this event this past week has been amazing! Ah! Justin is incredible! He's got to be one of God's chosen elect for this time. I'm SO grateful to have been part of this and been able to teach him (: Justin was brought into the gospel and taught the lessons because he was surrounded by amazing friends who were incredible examples to him. They were all part of his baptism and it was so special! President and Sister Tateoka surprised us and came! We also had the stake president there and a bishop from another ward whose sons were his friends and a ton of support from the YSA! (He was baptized into the YSA branch) AND we got to go to the YSA (young single adult) branch on Sunday to watch him get confirmed!! I can't completely describe my excitement for Justin and the amazing things he will do! He looked so happy! And just so full of the spirit. Again, I can't express how grateful and excited I am for him! (:
It's been a crazy transfer! At the beginning it was tough being transferred after transferred from places that felt like home. I still miss each place and the friends/family I've made there (North Marion, Sweet Home, The Grand Sheramina). Change and I don't go together very well! But the Lord knew that each change would make me stronger. When I came here, I had no idea how much spiritual growth was coming and that I would get to be part of some of the most incredible experiences of seeing the change of the Gospel in those we've taught and loved! Last week, we had interviews with the mission president. He noticed that change in me and commented that I looked happy (: My biggest desire is to become the person my Heavenly Father wants me to be and I feel like I've come closer to being that person. I'm still not perfect! I continually strive to use Christ's Atonement and make myself better each day. I'm SO grateful for the gospel and the opportunity I have to learn and grow in it! Thank you for your love and prayers!
I love you!! Have an amazing week! (:

Temple Trip!!

We took Justin to the temple on Monday!! Ah! It was SO good! He loved it (: Justin gets baptized this week! He just graduated from high school and was introduced to the church by his amazing friends in the branch. I've LOVED teaching him and can't wait for the amazing things he'll do! (: Martha is doing good! She pretty much taught class in church yesterday explaining when she felt the Holy Ghost!
It's been a good week! Can't remember much of what we did but it's been good! We had exchanges on Wednesday and Sister Lowe came to Brownsville with me and sister Elizondo! There's been a lot of rain but it's been fun! We are having a good time and lots of laughs! For a trio we're doing pretty good (;
HAPPY FATHERS DAY to an INCREDIBLE DAD!
I'm grateful for the way he's raised me and for the humor I get from him (;
Love you dad!

Martha was BAPTIZED!

This week has been an incredible roller coaster of emotions and miracles! We taught all the lessons and planned a baptism in a week! And like I said last week - it was WORTH IT! Amazing!
I've never experienced anything like this past week. The beginning was unbelievably hard there were so many complications with planning this baptism and anything that could go wrong did! But we prayed and believed that Martha was ready and worked towards getting her baptized on June 3rd. She has such unwavering faith! Even when for the day we received the news she couldn't be baptized she said "it's okay, I will be baptized in God's timing" I can't explain to you the emotional roller coaster of that day. That evening we got the text: we will be able to continue teaching Martha and she will be baptized in the Brownsville branch. The baptism was back on! It was confirmation that Martha was ready and God answers us. Our faith has been strengthened and the power God has shown throughout this whole process is a testimony to me! I'm SO GRATEFUL to have been part of all of this! I'm so grateful for Martha's FAITH and her love for her family! I'm so grateful for Chandra, the friend who knew Martha was ready for this and for all the help she was! The gift of the Holy Ghost is an incredible gift we've been given! 12 years ago on June 4th I received this gift (: I'm learning what it means to me to have such an amazing gift and guide. I'm so grateful for it and for the opportunity to be part of this incredible work! GOD LOVES US! He LOVES YOU!
Today, we are taking Justin to the Portland temple's visitor center! This guy is incredible and he's going to become an apostle some day! (:
I LOVE this Gospel and I LOVE all of you!
Have an incredible week! Happy Summer!
